These studio produced episodic serials were a way to keep theaters packed, especially on weekends.</p> <p>The Batman series was concurrent with the Fleischer Bros. Superman animated series. </p> <p>You know these movie theater presentations had a powerful influence on the movie industry, leading to the popular franchises we have today.
