12197How was your day?As long as you're alright.
Mr MagicOct 08, 2014View
12196How was your day?The good news is that I'm mostly in shape. My ankle is a tricky story. Bad ankles runs in the family I found out. But the ankle support and the insoles according to the doctor are good enough for now. Also I'm more prone to the effects of hypoglycemia aka low blood sugar effects.
ThatDudeintheHoodieOct 08, 2014View
12195Little Nemo (1911)^ Turner Classic Movies showed 10 of McCay's short films the other night.

They showed 28 short animated films in all that night.
Mr MagicOct 08, 2014View

12193Retro RandomnessYup, that's what I'm thinking of, at least the shape and look. I think I remember that too. It was a translucent white plastic, somewhat flexible? The ones I remember more were very clear, and harder plastic, and the store had a key of sorts to open them.
shakin steakOct 08, 2014View
12192What franchise do you want to see come back to your town?I thought they were going to our old Circuit City building into a Best Buy, but it's an Ashley Furniture store instead.
Mr MagicOct 08, 2014View
12191What franchise do you want to see come back to your town?
shakin steak wrote :
Tower shut down completely. I used to live near the original store in Sacramento, shortly before all locations closed for good. There was also a Tower Theater and a Tower Cafe on the same block. The cafe was very good. They had french toast three inches thick. It was one of those places that had a line around the block for brunch on weekends. I only went to the theater once, no complaints but I don't remember it much. I'm sure it was classic style. I do know it had the movie posters outside.

I can't help but think Tower and other defunct retail companies would still be in business if they had stayed small. (See my previous post) Especially if all retailerers stayed small. Is that naive? I suppose I'm stomping on The American Dream or something -end quote

Naive, maybe. Desirable... yes.
Vaporman87Oct 08, 2014View
12190Retro RandomnessOkay so, this isn't exact but, I think it's pretty close. It's just one solid piece of plastic with no way to open it. You basically had to cut it off with scissors somehow. Very annoying.

Vaporman87Oct 08, 2014View
