46983Retro Albums You Recommend
I'm a huge jazz fan.

One album I enjoy is Cannonball Adderley's "Live at the Club" (They were really playing at a Capitol Records studio with an invited audience there.)

Mr MagicMar 11, 2021View

46981The Café
It sounds to me like Fox misunderstood what TCM is doing... They aren't lecturing people, they're having coversations about these issues within the context of time period and other social implications while also showing the full movie (that is, *not* censoring it, which is the baffling decision some companies make). It's part of a series they are airing called Reframed: Classic Films in the Rearview Mirror.

TCM has always pesented movies with commentary in this way. I'm actually quite looking forward to the series.

<!-- You're using demo endpoint of Iframely API commercially. 46980The Café
For those who watch Turner Classic Movies:

I learned on Fox News tonight that right before they start a movie on TCM, they're going to have a lecture on things that are in the movie that might offend some people like violence, swearing, and drug use.

Usually before the movie starts, they show what the rating of the movie is and what's in it in about 10 seconds!

Keep it simple! No need for a lecture!

Mr MagicMar 11, 2021View

46976Retro Albums You Recommend
If it's "beyond retro" that's okay too.

One album that I recommend is the Beatles' "Abbey Road" album.

onipar wrote :
So what era would we consider retro, and in what year would "retro" become "classic?" Hmmm. There's TONS of stuff I'd recommend in the 50s-60s, but I'm, going to asuume we're looking more at 70s, 80s, 90s?

-end quote

Mr MagicMar 10, 2021View
