| 5221 | Virtual Console Thursdays | I too am looking forward to the Miiverse integration for the 3DS. I like that they're giving you the option to link your Nintendo Network account from your Wii U. That would mean that Nintendo is most likely going to get rid of their friend code system once and for all. That would be great, because adding friends through Miiverse is so much easier. It also might be a way to get in touch with people you streetpassed. I would love that since I've been Streetpassed by some familiar people on school campus.

One of the things I'm also hoping Nintendo does with their shared account of eShop credit is to give simular discounts to people who already downloaded certain NES games on their Wii and Wii U. There are a number of NES games that I already own on my Wii and Wii U that I'd like to get on my 3DS... but I do NOT want to spend an extra $5 just to have it on my 3DS. Still, having an account that shares eshop credit is one of the first ways to do that.

Nintendo did announce that they're going to be updating the Wii U Youtube app to have it work simular to the one for the 3DS. One of the things I'm hoping they get out from this is to have Youtube videos play on your Gamepad as well as your TV. I think they showed something about that in an early Wii U demo video, but wasn't integrated into the actual Youtube app.
EDIT: Unfortunately, it looks like what I said about the idea of contacting people you Streetpassed and adding friends is now being thrown out the window. Nintendo announced that the 3DS Miiverse is not allowing you to add friends and contact users. So in other words, it's going to be the same as the browser version. Yeah, it's disappointing, but understandable after the recent Swapnote incident. However, Nintendo does update Miiverse all the time, so there is the possibility we might still get these features on the 3DS Miiverse sometime in the future. | blueluigi | Nov 15, 2013 | ![]() |
| 5220 | Virtual Console Thursdays | just saw river city ransom in the eshop before i went to work and i just had to get it! definitely worth a recommendation :) i'm also baffled with the lack of release of link to the past, i wanna play that on the gamepad goshdangit! speaking of which, its been recently put up as a reward download at club nintendo for the wii, so eh... maybe they'll release it after link between worlds comes out? anywho i like how the 3DS is getting the miiverse and youtube update. i just hope with youtube it won't be like that useless wii u app, whereas watching youtube on the internet browser itself is a better experience | Benjanime | Nov 15, 2013 | ![]() |

| 5216 | Virtual Console Thursdays | Week of 11/14/2013:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Uncharted Waters: New Horizons (SNES)
$7.99

3DS Virtual Console:

River City Ransom (NES)
$4.99

Also, as announced during yesterday's Nintendo Direct, they're going to be doing a month-long theme of having sales featuring different classic gaming icons. They're doing it every week for a month. This week's character is Link. Perfect time in honor of A Link Between Worlds. On the both the Wii U and 3DS eshops, The original NES Legend of Zelda, and it's sequel, The Adventure of Link, is being sold for $3.49. On the 3DS eshop, we have both these games, plus Link's Awakening, which is being sold for $3.99.

You know... with this Zelda sale going on for this week, I'd like to ask... why the HELL did Nintendo not release A Link to the Past this week? You would think they'd do it this week and sell that at a discount price, and it would balance the number of games available on the 3DS discount. Not to mention A Link Between Worlds is... you know.. a direct sequel to A Link to the Past. They still haven't announced anything about it in America or Japan, but it has been announced in Europe for a while now, but nothing about it since.
| blueluigi | Nov 15, 2013 | ![]() |
