| 44706 | Christmas Nostalgia & More! |

Here's one of my Christmas heroes from any European Mythology: Krampus. Every Christmas Eve, he finds naughty kids and takes them back to his lair to torment them for their horrid behaviour. He went mainstream a few years back and was even made into a movie but everybody has seem to calm down about him since

| RetroSnob88 | Dec 20, 2019 | ![]() |
| 44704 | Christmas Nostalgia & More! |
Whatever. Y'all can keep that stupid 2000 movie. The 1966 Animated Cult Classic (but only by default) Special will always be the only Grinch in my eyes. The other iterarions were an insult to Dr Seuss
| RetroSnob88 | Dec 20, 2019 | ![]() |
| 44703 | Christmas Nostalgia & More! |

"I just watched the 2000 How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Still love it."

I still can't over how much Grinch 2000 sounds like Sean Connery.

Anyway, it's a good movie. Probably better than what the 2018 movie woulda been.
| Mr Magic | Dec 20, 2019 | ![]() |

| 44701 | Gwar |

Gwar were also on Sally Jesse at the height of their cult following, that Viva La Bam guy hosted them on his MTV trash show, they hilariously enough did a song for The Codename Kids Next Door on Cartoon Network, and even have a tabletop role playing game (as of the mid 90's, so years before that Sheldon Bazonger was invented made nerd culture obnoxiously mainstream and stagnant) themed after them. There was also mass debate for a time on whether or not David Brockie's character Oderus Urungus should be put in Mortal Kombat. If he was, I'm throwing $500 down on an XBox One and playing said Mortal Kombat game
| RetroSnob88 | Dec 20, 2019 | ![]() |
| 44700 | Gwar |
Actually it was both games for the SNES and Genesis. In both those games Beavis and Butt-Head try to get Gwar tickets
| RetroSnob88 | Dec 20, 2019 | ![]() |

| 44697 | Forgotten Cartoons |
You know what really sucks? The fact that The Mysterious Cities of Gold's small cult following in the US isn't enough to warrant the sequel series a US release. Especially since the show ends this upcoming year and I really want to see what happens to Esteban and friends. Lucky Australia for getting the show imported!
| RetroSnob88 | Dec 20, 2019 | ![]() |
| 44696 | Forgotten Cartoons |

Anybody remember Sylvanian Families? It's a very popular toyline from Japan that combines anthropomorphic stuffed animal figurines with these treehouse like plastic dollhouses. In the United States, we know Sylvanian Families as Calico Critters. Anyway, in 1987, Dic (now that's pronounced Dick. Need a reason why? Watch The Inspector Gadget Christmas Special at the part where Gadget ends up in a dungeon with Santa. With the fact that that was made for children, Andy Heyward is soooooo lucky Chris Hansen had not yet been invented in 1992) made a cartoon based on the cult toy line. The cartoon didn't leave much of an impact on the American audience (that and considering the beginning plot of each episode, the show has not aged well) but it was popular enough in Spain as well as the UK. So much so, the latter country gave the world another Sylvanian cartoon later that year and then years later, an OVA of it was made in Japan. In the UK, the toyline is the most popular. 2nd best in that category would be the franchise's native Japan and we lousy Americans come in 3rd by default because of the toyline's cult status.

Without further ado, here's the intro for the US Sylvanian Families cartoon aka the Dick Entertainment one

<!-- You're using demo endpoint of Iframely API commercially.
