41301Last Movie You Watched<p>I wondered what this would turn out like in the end. Too bad it’s not what everyone hoped. Doesn’t take away from Welles’ legacy</p>Vaporman87Nov 13, 2018View

41298Last Movie You WatchedThe Other Side of the Wind (2018)<div><br></div><div>Orson Welles' legendary unreleased film is finally available for public viewing on Netflix. So does it live up to the hype and reputation its built up over decades? I think that depends on your expectations. If you go in expecting a lost masterpiece, you'll probably be a little disappointed. If you look at it as a master filmmaker experimenting with his craft, you might be more satisfied.</div><div><br></div><div>My favorite part was the movie within the movie. It's done in the style of a 60s/70s hippie arthouse film and while it doesn't make a whole lot of sense (at least I don't think it's supposed to) there's a lot of interesting visuals. And the female star is beautiful, which doesn't hurt either.<img src="http://www.retro-daze.org/images/smilies/MavLove.gif" style="font-size: 10pt;"><img src="http://www.retro-daze.org/images/smilies/MavLove.gif" style="font-size: 10pt;"><img src="http://www.retro-daze.org/images/smilies/MavLove.gif" style="font-size: 10pt;"></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size: 13.3333px;">My vote is 7/10 stars. And be sure to watch the "making of" documentary (also on Netflix) for backstory about the movie and Welles' life.</span></div>jkatzNov 12, 2018View

41296Stan Lee has passed away at 95This is one of the few celebrity deaths that really got to me. I fully credit the early Marvel comics for making me a comic book reader in the first place.<div><br></div><div>RIP.<br><div><br></div></div>jkatzNov 12, 2018View

41294Stan Lee has passed away at 95Stan truly was "The Man". I really hate this news, but as blue said, he had a long and prosperous life to be proud of. He will live on forever in our hearts and minds, and in the various properties he had a hand in creating.&nbsp;<img src="http://www.retro-daze.org/images/smilies/MavCry.gif">Vaporman87Nov 12, 2018View
41293Stan Lee has passed away at 95It was not of a broken heart. Stan Lee's health was declining over the past several years, and he seemed like he was just about in his last years. When I attended Silicon Valley Comic Con earlier this year, he was there signing autographs, and his health was in poor condition. I remember there was one point where he grew so weak that day in signing autographs, that he had to take the rest of the day off, with nobody informing the people in line for hours, making them wait for even longer. He did get the autographs signed the next day, in a wheelchair, and people rushing to have theirs signed by Stan Lee.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Very sad to see another legend gone, but at least he's lived a nice long life, and a legacy that will live on. RIP Stan Lee.</div>blueluigiNov 12, 2018View
