| 47356 | Best Twilight Zone episodes |

It's very strange the way my favor for Twilight Zone episodes have changed over the years.

Anne Francis starred in a TZ episode called, "After Hours". In the best Rod Serling tradition, there's nothing awful that happens in this story. It's actually a character study about who we are - a story about Us.

Yet, only the Twilight Zone can focus on beautiful people and give you a creepy, sort of "unsetteled" feeling.

| eddstarr | May 09, 2021 | ![]() |

You want old school "Action & Adventure" type excitement and fun - the kind that made Superhero comics so popular in the first place. As an animated story not only would Superman's attitude clash with modern sensibilities but even his "drawn style" could be old school, to match his behavior and make the character a true standout.

The Fleischer Bros. Superman series from the 1940's rings true to the original spirit of Superman. Everyone understands the timelessness of Superman's character, Restoring Superman back to his place in pop culture sounds like a winner to me!

| eddstarr | May 09, 2021 | ![]() |
| 47354 | Best Twilight Zone episodes |
One that really freaked me out was the one where the Nazi soldier revisited the concentration camp and the ghosts of his victims put him on trail for crimes against humanity.
| Mr Magic | May 09, 2021 | ![]() |
| 47353 | Best Twilight Zone episodes |
Yeah, it does. Probably why I dig it. Another one with that feel to it (actually really heartwarming for a TZ episode) is "The Night of the Meek," with Art Carney. Wonderful Christmas episode. To a lesser degree (or maybe not) "One for the Angels" as well.
| onipar | May 09, 2021 | ![]() |
| 47352 | Last Thing you Bought? |
Ah, nice. I miss light gun games. One of the only reasons I keep thinking about picking up a CRT so I can play the NES light gun stuff.

Enjoying Cave Story quite a bit so far. I do wish there was a way to skip cut scenes, but otherwise it's a lot of fun.
| onipar | May 09, 2021 | ![]() |
| 47351 | Last Thing you Bought? |
ah, i remember cave story, one of the very first indie games i came across, around 2004, next to yume nikki.

not entirely proud to admit that i own this now, but with light gun games on home console dying out i figured i'd buy it for that reason.

| Benjanime | May 09, 2021 | ![]() |
| 47350 | Best Twilight Zone episodes |
It's got a nice "It's a Wonderful Life" feel to it. The Mr. Bevis episode, I mean.
| Mr Magic | May 09, 2021 | ![]() |
| 47349 | Last Thing you Bought? |
Those fridge magnets are pretty awesome! Good choices there, love them all.
That's a pretty funny story about your teacher. I bet the class was shocked into silence.

Well, I already posted this on the discord, but it's still the last new major purchase, so I'll post it here too. The Anbernic 351P handheld retro emulation console. I've had it now for roughly a month, and it's been pretty awesome.

I'm not usually much of a handheld gamer, but this was a stopgap purchase while I wait to either upgrade from my raspberry pi2 to a raspberry pi4 to emulate on the TV, or maybe buy one of those new Retron 5 conosles if they ever come back into stock.

Still, it's been performing beautifully. Currently playing a game called Cave Story on it, which was a port of a newer game I believe. Also toying with Metal Slug and revisiting some arcade favs like The Simpsons and TMNT.

| onipar | May 09, 2021 | ![]() |
| 47348 | Best Twilight Zone episodes |

Great episode. I've maybe seen it one too many times though. The Simpsons has a fun pardoy of it in the Treehouse of Horrors II.
I have so many favorites from the original run of TWZ. It's hard to choose only one, so I'm sure I'll come back to this post and list others. But for now, I'll start with season one and choose "Mr. Bevis." It's a goofy episode compared to many of the others, but I love the message.
There are so many classic episodes though! I love them all. Well, all except "The Bewitchin' Pool." That episode can go straight to Hell. :-p

| onipar | May 09, 2021 | ![]() |
