46430Jerry Mouse in a Tuxedo
Yeah, that short inspired me to do this drawing. I actually have a Jerry plush and I copied his facial features from there. Glad you like. And yes, he does!
Mr MagicOct 28, 2020View

46428Retrospective - The Thing - 1982
Friday the 13th: Part III

Well, the 3-D effects were lame, but it still delivered some good scares, which is what you want from a Friday the 13th film.

Mr MagicOct 28, 2020View
46427Retrospective - The Thing - 1982
How does that old saying go: "hindsight is 20/20"?

"The Thing" had to air in the shadow of "ET", and I still wonder what would have happened if the movie had aired in May instead of June. Guess the production schedule is like a game of dominos, bump one film release and they all fall over.

Gotta love a film that actually gets more interesting with repeated viewings. Many of the details reveal as so subtle that I find myself in awe of the quality of the production.
eddstarrOct 28, 2020View
46426Retrospective - The Thing - 1982
I recently got The Thing on Blu-Ray. It still holds up after all these years. The effects are great, the story contains all kinds of little details you might miss if you aren't paying attention. Carpenter really did go above and beyond on this film.

I sometimes wonder where his career would have gone had the film not bombed upon release. The film's intital failure clearly had an effect on him that he really has never recovered from.
Rick Ace RhodesOct 28, 2020View

46424The Café
My new computer arrived today. It looks fantastic. Far thinner than my previous Imac. Unfortunately this one doesn't have a built in SD Card slot. I'll have to buy a USB Card reader since I need a SD Card for work.

I'm going to have my mom's friend come over this week and help me get all my files off my old computer. I have a huge Itunes library I need to install into the new one.
Rick Ace RhodesOct 27, 2020View
